Boro came up short against a Leyton Orient 11 that include 7 first team squad players in the London Senior Cup on Monday evening . An even first half saw little chances created by either side although the O’s dominated possession as expected . The O’s did tale the lead when a shot by Soteriou was partially saved by Austin in goal who had to watch in despair as the ball trickled in. A resurgent Boro in the second half caused untold problems for the O’s back line. One move in particular saw Nouble’s effort come back off the inside of the post and was gathered on the goal line by the grateful Janata. Boro wasted a number of opportunities to equalise and were undone by a route one move as Harrod headed on Janata’s goal kick and Soteriou forced a save from Byfield but he was helpless to prevent Alabi scoring from the rebound. Boro did manage to get a goal back in 90 minute through the impressive Barker but it was not to be . A commendable display against top opposition and the Boro boys did themselves proud and proved they can perform at a good level .
