Boro 5 Brightlingsea Regent 1

An emphatic win for the Boro as they swept aside a young hard working Regent side. With top scorer Chiduben Onokwai injured and strike partner Akinola also injured Boro gave  a first team debut to Anthos Solomou , the former Greek Cypriot international ,and what a debut to remember it turned out to be . After a quiet start Boro began to gain some control in the middle of the pitch and on 30 mins the ever impressive Aresti in the middle of the park put a slide rule accurate ball through to Solomou who placed it passed the  on rushing Turner in the Regent goal . 5 minutes later it could have been two as Solomou was this time thwarted by an excellent Turner save. However Boro did double their lead on the stroke of half time as Coby Rowe ( pictured ) climbed highest to head home a Mcdonald corner. Early in the second half the game was as good as over when Kisitu charging down the left flank flicked the ball over an oncoming defender and Solomou was on hand at the far post to place the ball past Turner and claim his second goal. The hat trick was not long coming as on 68 minutes after a fine run and cross by Edwards Solomou was again on hand to cooly finish.  Regent did pull one back on 82 as Lindoe pounced to side foot a rebound into an empty net after Pajetat in the Boro goal had saved an effort from Howell . Boro promptly upped their game again and it was fitting that Aresti scored the final goal of the game as he side footed the ball into the net from 18 yards . It was a fitting climax to the game  and Boro remained the only side in the league not to drop a point. On to Wingate & Finchley on Monday 3 pm ko.
