Emirates FA Cup Boro V Herne Bay FC Saturday 7 September 3 pm

Well it all starts again for Boro this coming Saturday in the first qualifying round of the Emirates FA Cup when we host Isthmian South East Division Herne Bay at the CVS Van Hire Stadium . We can confidently state that whatever the result there will be an HBFC in the next round !!

Herne Bay having overcome a spirited effort from step 5 AFC Croydon in the replay on Tuesday evening will travel with hope and no little desire to cause an upset. We know what it is like ourselves to be the underdog and we know how in such games we have raised our game , often to the extent where it is difficult to tell who the lower opposition side is. Our performance last season against AFC Wimbledon in the first round proper being a perfect example .On Saturday we will face a different type of pressure as we will be the favourites and have everything to lose and Herne Bay will have no fear . That said we are playing well and full of confidence especially after last Saturday’s excellent win and we all know what happened last season and we will want to progress as far a possible this season . Several new players who did not share in what we all shared in last season  will want to experience the magic and the drama associated with the FA Cup   . Come and support the boys and recreate the tremendous atmosphere that we have at home games.

Regrettably the free league season tickets do not apply as we share the gate money and therefore the normal admission prices will apply.
