Boro 1 Folkestone Invicta 0

Boro welcomed back last season’s top scorer Ralston Gabriel for this highly competitive match as they sought to maintain their winning streak against a strong Folkestone side.
Boro had the better of the early exchanges and with last season’s supporter’s player of the year Mcdonald starting his first league game of the season and the inform duo of Akinwande and Mckenzie up front Boro had some serious firepower as they sought to win their 6th league game in succession . With the wind on their backs Boro looked dangerous and after a couple of half chances and with Akinwande hitting the top of the bar after only 5 minutes it was Akinwande again who made the breakthrough on 27 minutes .A neat one two with Kirby on the edge of the box put him clean through and he smashed the ball home past the despairing Roberts. 5 minutes later after an excellent team build up and a super twist in the box leaving the Folkestone defender in his wake McDonald saw his left foot effort rebound off the inside of the post to safety. 1-0 halftime and the Boro faithful expected much in the second half. However Folkestone and the elements had other ideas. With the wind increasing and now in the faces of the Boro players Folkestone dominated the second half and despite the introduction of Gabriel and with his trademark powerful runs he could not find a finish to his good approach work and it was left to Pajetat in the Boro goal to repel everything Folkestone threw at him . Boro held on to take the points and it was a testament to the back 4 that they showed such spirit to ensure that the game was won even if not in the impressive fashion of previous wins . Nevertheless another 3 points making it 18 in a row and Boro will be looking for a 7th win on Monday night when Bishop’s Stortford are the visitors
