An excellent advert for the non league game and the Isthmian premier in particular with two real footballing sides giving the good sized crowd much to enjoy. Hornchurch started the stronger and had much possession and Stimson , Dickson and Saunders in particular causing problems with their movement and touch. However despite the possession Pajetat in the Boro goal was largely untroubled. Froxylias and Aresti along with Akinola and Sambu began to rest some control from the Hornchurch midfield but again barely troubled Wright in goal . In fact the only real difficulty faced by Wright in the first half was when his own defender miscleared a Boro free kick and the ball struck the post and rebounded to safety . 0-0 halftime. Boro came out a different team in the second half and pushed back the Hornchurch defenders. With Aresti probing Boro began to create chances and Wright was called upon to make a smart save from a Froxylias free kick. Shortly thereafter he was motionless as a Rowe free kick was deflected just wide of the post. Boro took a deserved lead on 75 minutes when Froxylias picked the ball up 20 yards out and smashed the ball beyond the despairing Wright . Boro ‘s delight however was short-lived as Stimson curled a beauty into the top corner just a minute later with Hornchurch first attack of the half !! The goals galvanised both teams bringing about a pulsating end to end finish. Boro thought they had won it when Froxylias again shot after some great approach play but a Hornchurch defender threw himself in front of the venomous strike and the rebound fell to Froxylias again who this time was fractionally wide with his finish. At the other end Pajetat made an amazing double save in injury time from close range to deny Hornchurch the win . Honours even and both sides will be happy with a point in their quest and on this display neither will be far away come the end of the season.
