Boro 3 Enfield Town 1

An incredible record breaking home league crowd of 875 witnessed the Boro take all 3 points . In a closely fought match of few chances in the first half Enfield took the lead after a corner wasn’t cleared properly and central defender Weatherstone was at hand to prod home. Boro were not to be outdone however and with Oyenuga a constant threat down the channels Boro got a foothold in the game. On one such foray down the left wing Oyenuga fed Nouble who cut in from the left and curled an unstoppable shot past Nolan in the Enfield goal. Boro now pushed to get their noses in front and Nolan was alert to stop an excellent strike from Oyenuga. A nicely worked move set the marauding Richards down the right wing and his cross just evaded the on rushing Oyenuga. At the other end the impressive Blackman hit the outside of the post from just outside the area and Pajetat saved well from Bricknell. These two were at it again on 42 minutes when Enfield were awarded a penalty after a handball in the area and up stepped leading scorer Bricknell. Pajetat however was equal to the effort and saved well diving to his left .

1-1 halftime.

In the second half Froxylias came into the game and had a wonderful left foot strike hit the post with Nolan rooted to the spot. Another right footed effort this time just moments later missed the far post and after substitute Sambu had headed a corner over the bar and Oyenuga came close Boro were awarded a penalty on 82 minutes. A free kick from the impressive debutant Della- Verde was partially headed clear and whilst Parcell dwelt on the ball in the area Della – Verde nipped in and touched the ball past Parcell who brought him down. No complaint from the Enfield players when the referee pointed to the spot and up stepped Nouble to firmly place the ball home . Nolan a shade unlucky as he got two hands to the ball. Enfield pushed for an equaliser and after Froxylias repelled an attack and gave the ball to Nouble the two time scorer surged forward at pace and put Akinwande ( pictured )clean through and the Boro sub showed great composure as he drew Nolan and calmly side footed the ball past him securing the 3 points and sending the home crowd into delirium. A much needed return to form for the Boro who maintained their position second in the League and have made it a tall order if Enfield are to follow the Boro into the play offs .
