Boro 3 – Hornchurch 3

Video – Tosin Olufemi’s equaliser!

A hugely entertaining game saw the points shared after both teams had held leads during the course of the game.

It was Boro who opened the scoring after only two minutes when Mekhi McLeod burst past two defenders and left the goalkeeper with no chance from 20 yards. It was a bright start for Boro as further chances were created for Mekhi again, and Jorge Sambu but both shot wide of the goal.

Once Hornchurch started to play themselves into to the game they created a number of chances and on 23 minutes were level through a Liam Nash header from a left wing cross. This lead to further chances including a disallowed goal but on 30 minutes following a defensive mistake Charlie Ruff made it 1-2, Alfie Marigliani had parried the initial shot from Tom Wraight but Ruff scored from the rebound.

There were further chances for both sides but at Half Time it was 2-1 to Hornchurch.

After the break Boro showed more urgency and were level on 50 minutes when Tosin Olufemi found a surging Jorge Sambu who wrong footed a defender before showing composure to slot the ball home.

Parity didn’t last long as only 5 minutes later Liam Nash scored his 2nd of the game when finding the net through a crowd penalty area. 55 minutes gone Haringey 2 Hornchurch 3.

On 72 minutes the next and last goal arrived when Bobson Bawling was brought down in the penalty box and with the referee pointing to the spot, up stepped Tosin. See for yourself what happened by playing the video within this report.

The action didn’t stop until the final whistle but there were no further goals so it finished Haringey Borough 3 – Hornchurch 3.
